My first ever picture digitally coloured in GIMP - so very, very, very far from perfect, but I'm pleased with it, as it hasn't ended up one big black blob with the words 'I suck' scrawled on it. No lineart, because I tried and failed using my laptop mouse - but hopfully it doesn't look too bad without it.
So, it's basically a coloured version of one of the first sketches I put on here - Chii from the manga/anime Chobits. Pink's probably a cliche colour for her, but it suits the image of her that I have in my head, the ultimate girly girl (so not me).
I'm grateful for any comments or criticisms that you have to offer - though please bear in mind that this is my first attempt and I am totally new to it all - if you have any really good techniques, I'd love to hear about them (as long as you can explain them as well

).

Yup, shadows and highlights seem to be my downfall at the moment, I really need to spend more time on them - my target for my next go.
Bleh, I don't believe that
Yeah, the pencil lines are annoying, but when I tried to add lineart......yeah, it didn't look too cool. My fingers are surprisingly shakey on a laptop pad
lol, what does the japanese[is that japanese? if not....whatever language it is...]
say?
Yup, it's Japanese - brighter white says 'Chii' - her name - and the faded says 'Chobits', the name of the series she's from.
Basically, I was bored and wanted to fill the space
that's still really cool, though!
i wouldn't be able to do that.
talent, hekkyes!
I wanted to colour the sketch and was kinda bored, so I thought I'd try something digital for once
